Rhodes Old Town stole my heart ❤️

A walk around the castle walls

This is such a beautiful place. A medieval town dating back 2000 years that sits within stunning castle walls. Inside, there is an abundance of alleys and cobbled streets dotted with cafes, inns, bars, boutiques and all things to delight your taste buds.

My little boy running down one of the many pretty streets .

The Medieval buildings, mosques, traditional fountains, oriental motifs, Byzantine and Gothic churches, shops and cafeterias all blend together to create a rustic, unique and picturesque town that is full of charm. You can spend hours getting lost here in the winding cobbled streets and alleys. We loved wandering them with the boys taking twists and turns not knowing what we would find around the next corner. Be sure to pick up the sesame & honey roasted nuts, they are delicious!.

Walk along to Saint Nicholas Fortress and marvel at the stunning yachts, followed by the Instagram worthy windmills which are really stunning, on the waters edge with the ocean as a backdrop. You can even see Turkey from here!

Visit the famed medieval street ‘Street of the Knights of Rhodes’ for another stunning photo!
Palace of the Grand Master ( Rhodes Castle)

If you love a castle the glorious Palce of the Grand Master 7th Century Medieval Castle is home to ancient and medieval Rhodes. It is well worth a visit and tickets are only around £8.

We had such a lovely day exploring and most definitely recommend visiting if you are in Rhodes.
